28 Banned Photos That Were Secretly Smuggled Out Of North Korea. The entire country is shrouded in both literal and figurative darkness, making it one of the most mysterious places in the world. Not many outsiders have a chance to visit North Korea -in fact, it's nearly impossible for American to venture in without a pricey and heavily regulated visa. One photographer, Eric Lafforgue managed to visit the world's most peculiar and talked-about nation six times, and the photos he took there are truly compelling. For those that make it inside North Korea's borders, photography is highly-restricted and frowned upon. Using memory cards that he had to smuggle out of the country illegally, Lafforgue was able to share North Korea with the world in a way it has never been seen before. See the photos, along with Lafforgue's descriptions, below. #1. ‘This soldier was sleeping in a field. This picture really contributed to me getting banned from the country.’ #2. A woman standing in the middle of a crowd of soldiers. This picture is not supposed to be taken as officials do not allow army pictures. #3. ‘The North Korean army is said to be one of the most important in the world. But if you travel there, you’ll often see soldiers doing menial tasks like helping farmers.’ #4. ‘Outside urban areas, such a scene is fairly common.’ #5. ‘Pyongyang’s subway system is the deepest in the world as it doubles as a bomb shelter. Someone saw me taking this picture and told me to delete it since it included the tunnel.’ #6. ‘The North Korean officials hate when you take this kind of picture. Even when I explain that poverty exists all around the world, in my own country as well, they forbid me from taking pictures of the poor.’ #7. ‘When times are hard (as they usually are here), kids can be found working for the farming collectives.’ #8. ‘For a long time, bans against black market sales have been strictly enforced. Grey market vendors are more common. They earn a little money selling cigarettes or sweets.’ #9. ‘On the day of the Kimjongilia festival, thousands of North Koreans must queue up to visit various monuments.' #10. ‘Pyongyang is supposed to be the showcase of North Korea, so building exteriors are carefully maintained. When you get a rare chance to look inside, the bleak truth becomes apparent.’ #11. ‘As cars have become more widespread in Pyongyang, the peasants are still getting accustomed to seeing them. Kids play in the middle of the main avenues just like before when there were no cars in sight.’ #12. ‘One night, on the way back to the hotel my bus had to take an alternate route due to street closures. As we passed by old buildings, the guides asked me not to shoot with flash. The official reason was to avoid scaring people.’ #13. ‘A visit to a rural home. Those houses and the families who live there are carefully selected by the government. But sometimes, a detail like a bathroom used as a cistern shows that times are hard.’ #14. ‘Public transportation connecting the main towns is nearly non-existent. Citizens need permits to go from one place to another. On the highways, you can spot soldiers hitchhiking.’ #15. ‘Showing poverty is forbidden, but displaying wealth is also a big taboo in North Korea. In a park on a Sunday afternoon, I found this car that belongs to one of Pyongyang’s elite. The owners were having a BBQ.’ #16. ‘It is forbidden to take pictures of soldiers relaxing.’ #17. ‘It is also forbidden to photograph malnutrition.’ #18. ‘You can find all kinds of food and drink in Pyongyang’s two supermarkets where things are sold in both euros and wins. They even have Evian water. Only the elite can shop there.’ #19. ‘It’s not a circus, they are workers in a country with low safety standards.’ #20. ‘When visiting the delphinium in Pyongyang, you can photograph the animals, but not the soldiers who make up 99 per cent of the crowd.’ #21. ‘Paranoia is strong in North Korean minds. I took this picture at a funfair of a tired mother and child resting on a bench. I was asked to delete the picture since the guides were certain I would have said those people were homeless.’ #22. ‘This is never supposed to happen: a broom standing on the base of Kim Il Sung’s statue in Mansudae, in Pyongyang.’ #23. ‘This kind of picture is widespread in the west. The caption often explains that North Koreans eat grass from the park. The guides get furious if you take it.’ #24. ‘When you visit families, the guides love it if you take pics to show the world that kids have computers. But when they see there is no electricity, then they ask you to delete.’ #25. ‘It is absolutely forbidden to take a picture of the Kim statues from the back. It is considered very rude.’ #26. ‘Queuing is a national sport for North Koreans.’ This is the line for the bus. #27. This is what happens when the bus breaks down.

From scary and weird; to strange and unsettling; These are 27 BIZARRE Photos North Korea Doesn't Want You To See Subscribe to American Eye http://goo.gl/GBphkv No Photos Allowed 26. CENSROED 25. North Korea at Night 24. CENSORED 23. Thriving Capital? 21. Pyongyang Subway System 20. Dolphin Aquarium 19. Shopping in North Korea 18. Internet Not Available 17. Soldier Selfie 16. The Supreme Ruler Kim Jung Un is without a doubt the wealthiest citizen of North Korea and in case you were wondering why they suffer from famines, all you have to do is take one good look at him to understand why. Even NorthKorea’s closest ally of China has criticized him for his weight problem and he’s actually demanded them to stop. China’s social media has called him things such as Kim the Fat or Kim Half Moon. Maybe they should really call him kim Jung Unhealthy. Maybe we shouldn’t trust this guy with nuclear weapons. 15. Food Production North Korea never really experienced massive food shortages until Kim Jong Un was born in the 1980’s. Coincidence? North Korea doesn’t want you to know that he’s been stashing it all for himself. This photo shows Kim Jong Un inspecting agricultural products but he might need some alone time. 14. Pure Bliss Here in this photo we see him at what Kim Jung Un at a cheese factory in North Korea is rumored to have an addiction to Swiss Cheese, especially after living there as a kid. However, this is kind of a luxury and since North Korea can’t obtain Swiss Cheese too easily, he’s trying to make it himself. 12. Eye Doctor North Korea lacks any kind of modern day medical equipment and due to the malnutrician, more and more people are being diagnosed with cataracts, leading blindness. In 2017, National Geographic released a documentary about an doctor from Nepal curing hundreds north korean Citizens. This man in the red shirt can see perfectly for the first time in years and won’t be thanking the doctor for his hard work but the supreme leader of North Korea for allowing such an opportunity. 9. North Korea Airlines In case you were wondering, yes North Korea does have an airlines called Air Koryo and taking photos in flight normally isn’t allowed! This photographer was able to get a few good ones. It really actually doesn’t seem as bad as you might imagine and the food looks alright, as you can see from this photo of what’s served on a flight from Malaysia. But they might not want you to know that they don’t have the best aircraft available and this one in the photo with the flight attendants is from the1950’s! 6. The Military Here in this photo we see a group of North Korean Soldiers marching during a military day parade. This country has a surprisingly strong army with an even stronger ally in China. As of 2015, with a total of 78, North Korea is the world leader in possession of submarines although this statistic is slightly debated. Nonetheless, they have an intimidating fleet of subs that are primarily used for coastal attacks. 5. Grass Season We’re not exactly sure why this guy is picking up grass but some people claim that when food is running low, citizens are forced to eat grass found in fields. It could simply be used as food for livestock or other animals but after taking a look at this guy you might be convinced he is going to eat it. The tour guide really didn’t want him to take a photo of it. What do you believe? 4. Waiting in Line Most places in North Korea forbid people from owning car, fearing that they might be able to use it for an escape. The public transportation isn’t the best in the world and huge lines will form in order to catch a designated bus to work. 3. Where Are His Parents Life expectancy in North Korea has plummeted by 5 years since the 1960’s and most workers in this country earn 2-3 dollars each month from the government. Normally during a good month, they might make $10 from selling goods at markets. Here we see a rogue child standing in the middle of the street for no apparent reason, without supervision, 2. Grab Your Bike Outside of major cities cars are just non existent and bikes are the most common form of getting around here by a longshot. Seeing a car would almost be like seeing a flying saucer for these people. Here we see several villagers on their bikes and due to a national fuel shortage and lack of income, it seems like it’s gonna be like that for a while. 1.The Arch of Reunification

Our reporter at the border uncovers the true story of North Korea that warmongering Kim Jong-un does not want the outside world to see A child of around 10 sits dying of starvation by the side of the road while just yards away soldiers load enough rice on to trucks to feed families for weeks. As the young boy slumps on the grimy kerb in his filthy, oversized army jacket, locals stroll past zombie-style without even glancing in his direction or displaying an ounce of pity for his wretched plight. Nearby his friends scavenge in disease-ridden rubbish tips for scraps of what might pass for food in a land where people are so poor they are forced to eat tree bark or even corpses, according to those on the inside. Read the latest live reaction and updates as horrors of Kim Jong-un's brutal regime are laid bare in secret video here And not far away, prisoners are herded from their harsh labour camps to frantically dig out crops from frozen ground while trigger-happy troops hover over them waiting for the one wrong move that could end with death. This is the real North Korea. The one its warmongering leader Kim Jong-un does not want the outside world to see. And the vision of hell is a far cry from the Stalinist propaganda pictures peddled out on Wednesday showing smiling people hailing their great leader as if they are the happiest folk around in a land where all is rosy. The images, taken by brave campaigners desperate to reveal the truth of Kim's brutal regime, were handed to the Mirror as William Hague warned Pyongyang it faces harsher sanctions if it goes ahead with a fourth missile test. Speaking at a G8 summit in London, the Foreign Secretary said: "If the DPRK conducts another missile launch or nuclear test we have committed ourselves to take further significant measures. "We don't specify what those further significant measures are but clearly what we're talking about is in the field of sanctions." Mr Hague spoke as North Korea moved a missile launcher into position with a range of 2,180 miles amid fears it was training weapons on the US, Japan or Guam. Dictator Kim continued to ignore the plight of his starving people, while making sure the army was well stocked with food as he sends them to the front line in preparation for war with South Korea. Near the starving boy -- secretly filmed at Yang Gang county, near the Chinese border -- bags bursting with food were being hauled on to vehicles destined for the potential battle zones along with the soldiers and millions of pounds worth of weaponry. Among them were well-dressed young women in high heel boots. We watched the shocking footage of the misery Kim's regime is inflicting with Pastor Kim Seung-Eun, a cleric who has helped more than 1,000 North Koreans flee. Speaking at his home in the South, he said: "There are people in North Korea who are so hungry they have turned to cannibalism. "One man was shot dead, executed because he ate half of another human being and sold the rest as meat. People are living like animals in that country. "I do what I can to get as many out as possible but it is very, very dangerous, especially for the people on the inside who help me. "The person who filmed the footage of the boy focused on him for a reason. "Someone had told him this boy was dying by the side of the road and he went looking for him. "It is very distressing. Very upsetting, but I hope the world will be shocked by this footage and help more refugees and defectors to escape that dreadful place." The 48-year-old reverend has been sneaking defectors out of the North for several years often bribing hungry border guards and officials for help. It can cost him £5,000 in planning, rations, bribes for border guards, train and boat tickets. He has also helped bring out video images like the ones above. They are filmed by critics of the regime who face certain death if caught. Pastor Kim said: "I cannot tell you if I have been inside, to go to North Korea for South Koreans would be a huge crime. "But I have friends who take the camera back inside and film the real truth of North Korea. It is important people realise how bad it really is in there." These images show how dehumanised North Koreans have become under the Communist government. Human beings who can walk past children starving to death because they themselves do not have a scrap of food to help has seemingly become the norm. They are used to a daily diet of death and it has clearly hardened their senses. One piece of footage shows a border guard pointing his machine gun down the lens of the cameraman after he has been spotted.

"How could you upload youtube video in NK?". "He uploads the video after he back to Indonesia, because he didn't dare if he upload directly from NK". Nope..that is not entirely True.. The answer is.. I already back to Indonesia, and currently I live in Indonesia.. My first 23 videos was uploaded when I was in North Korea. The most different thing that when I uploaded video in NK, for a 15 minute video needed two days to upload, because the internet there was unstable due to electricity on off several times in a day..I can’t subscribe for cellular internet mobile because its way too expensive and..not reliable too... but..when in Indonesia, I can choose which provider for internet and to upload a 15 minute video need only few minutes... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OK.. back to this video.. I was going to a store which was located inside the Diplomatic Compound in Munsu District, behind Vietnam Embassy (you can check it out in Google Maps) Sure..because these videos is about my daily life in NK...so I only posted about my routines things that I am doing in NK). This store named Pyongyang Shop, which only several people who can access inside, only Foreigners and local Korean people who can get permission to be inside Diplomatic Compound (usually Korean people who works for foreign Organisations and embassies). Bringing a spotlight on North Korea through an international investigation would be a welcome step towards ending the catastrophic human rights situation there. It is a country where hundreds of thousands are believed to be held in political prison camps and other detention facilities in inhumane conditions including starvation, torture and forced labour. These are places were almost the entire range of human rights protections is ignored. Even those who are not imprisoned are being denied their most fundamental rights in daily life—such as their rights to health, food, freedom of expression, movement and opinion.
